Linda King Prepares to Retire

The Ronald McDonald House of Providence is preparing to bid farewell to a key member of our family. Linda King, our beloved House Manager, has decided to retire at the end of July.

While their son Tim was hospitalized at Rhode Island Hospital in 1986 both Linda and her husband John were asked to be parent representatives for the Ronald McDonald House, which was being built at that time. In addition to the initial committee for the House, Linda and John both served as Board members.

Linda started her employment at the House in June of 2001. She took the position of Staff Relief Manager and Volunteer Coordinator. Prior to that, she worked as a career coach, Head Start teacher and special education teacher, all of which prepared her well for her position as House Manager.

Surviving three bouts of cancer, Linda has remained positive and serves as a constant inspiration to all who know her. Her understanding, compassion and cheerful presence will be greatly missed, although we know she won't be able to stay away from the House for long. Much love and best wishes to you!
