Three Family Rooms Set to Open

The Ronald McDonald House of Providence is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Massachusetts.  Family Rooms are often located steps away from a pediatric or intensive care unit and usually include conveniences such as a kitchen, laundry facilities, Internet access, and a comfortable place for families to relax.  

The first RMFR will open at at U Mass Memorial Children's Medical Center, in Worcester, MA on June 15. U Mass Memorial Children's Medical Center, located within U Mass Memorial, is dedicated to treating children from infancy to adolescents.

Two additional Family Rooms will open at MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC).   One of the premier children's hospitals in the world, MGHfC employs physicians and surgeons in virtually every specialty of pediatric medicine.

MGHfC has two units for those patients requiring extended stays, Ellison 17 which houses infants-preschoolers, and Ellison 18 which houses school-aged children-adolescents. Both of these units had family lounges that were in need of renovations. Those renovations are now under way and these spaces will re-open as Family Rooms on June 29.
